A capability hiding in plain sight
S1 Safari begins with a small car of unusual substance. Its compact proportions, purposeful stance and understated rarity make the Audi S1 Sportback a compelling base for a different kind of grand touring.
The design broadens the car’s world without erasing the mechanical character that made it distinctive.
Mechanical character
A raised stance, rally-inspired wheels and all-weather tyres expand the car’s capability from city streets to country roads.
Permanent quattro, a six-speed manual gearbox and approximately 300bhp preserve the directness and involvement at the heart of the concept.
Refinement without excess
Inside, hand-trimmed leather and carefully selected materials introduce a warmer, more personal sense of luxury. The treatment is intended to age well, feel satisfying in use and keep the driving experience central.
A limited commission
S1 Safari is conceived as a tightly considered series of seven. Prototype 00 is under development; the project should not yet be read as a production vehicle or an offer of immediate delivery.
Each commission is intended to express a shared idea through closely judged material and finish choices.
